Chasing The Sunset, And Margaritas
Most weeks the sunset happens without you. You're stuck in traffic, answering one last email or standing in the supermarket wondering what on earth to make for dinner. Meanwhile, Brisbane's putting on a gorgeous show and nobody's looking up! Well, not this weekend. Sunset Fiesta Weekend is your excuse to gather the girls, get dressed up and make a proper occasion of golden hour. And naturally, we've added margaritas. It would be rude not to!
Your weekend begins at your own chic Brisbane city apartment, where you've got a couple of hours to settle in and get ready for the evening ahead. Put on your favourite music, unpack those outfits you've been saving for something special and enjoy a little pre-fiesta excitement. There's something about getting dressed up for a rooftop evening that feels like the beginning of a holiday, even when you haven't left Brisbane.
And what a rooftop we've got waiting for you! Our rooftop bar is all white lounges, tropical palms and gorgeous views across the Brisbane skyline. Find your spot, pour a glass of bubbly and enjoy watching the city turn golden as the afternoon slips into evening.
There's something rather wonderful about being up there with the girls as the sun begins to set. The light catches the buildings, the skyline makes a fabulous backdrop for photos and suddenly everyone's remembering why Brisbane is such a lovely place to spend an evening. My Ultimate has been creating girls weekends since 2011, and we'd say a sunset toast with your favourite people is a pretty fabulous way to celebrate one. But golden hour is only the beginning!
As the city lights come on, it's time to swap rooftop views for a little Mexican deliciousness. Our lively taco venue is waiting, with heritage brickwork, a beautiful courtyard and fairy lights overhead creating the perfect setting for dinner. There's margaritas to enjoy, delicious tacos to share and plenty of opportunity to settle in for a proper feast. A little messy, wonderfully delicious and exactly the sort of dinner that calls for another napkin and a second margarita.
And because one Mexican-inspired stop simply isn't enough, there's another little treat waiting. Our tropical garden bar brings a different kind of atmosphere to the evening. Think leafy surroundings, warm Brisbane air and the lovely buzz of an open-air bar after dark. With another round of margaritas and some guac and corn chips to share, the girls can settle in and enjoy the night. The rooftop might have delivered the sunset, but there's something equally wonderful about being outdoors with good company once the stars come out.
