Some Weekends Were Always Meant to Happen
Around here, every drama comes with a star sign attached. A late reply is very Gemini, and a plan changed twice is classic Libra. The only thing the stars have never explained is why this trip hasn't happened yet. Written In The Stars is the weekend that finally lines up: your own chic Gold Coast apartment, a private tarot hostess who comes to you with a mini reading for each of you, a long table by the water and bubbly at our rooftop beach club under the night sky. Some things in life are optional. The women who can finish your sentences aren't.
The moment you all walk into your own chic Gold Coast apartment, it's home base. Bags drop by the door and the couch fills with the women who know you best while someone takes charge of the playlist. Then the living room gets its makeover, cushions pulled into a circle and at least one candle lit purely for the vibe. Months of half finished voice notes finally get finished in person, everyone talking over each other and nobody minding.
You booked the cards to settle a few things once and for all, and the moment your hostess arrives the whole room changes key. Out come the cards, laid across dark red cloth among her crystals, and one by one you each take your turn across from her for a mini reading while the rest of the circle watches your face far more closely than the cards. The chatter drops, then comes roaring back between readings as everyone compares notes and argues over what new beginnings could possibly mean for someone who's just bought a couch. The sceptics lean in the furthest. They always do.
Afterwards the living room becomes a reading room of a different kind, with tarot spreads swapped for makeup spreads and crystals traded for highlighter. Lines from the cards get quoted back over outfit choices (the cards said bold, so it's the red), and every look gets signed off by the couch with reference to its star sign.
Now it's time to take all that cosmic confidence down to the water. Our waterfront restaurant is at its best as night falls, the water going inky just beyond the windows. Your table's reserved and a round of bubbly arrives for a toast to fate. Then the tapas style share plates start landing and don't stop, passed up and down the table while every reading gets picked apart properly.
The night ends up among the stars, or as close as the Gold Coast gets. Our rooftop beach club is lit up around its neon pool, and with your rooftop space reserved, another round of bubbly lands as you settle in. With the music up and the sky out, the talk gets honest in the way it only ever does late at night with your own people.
Later everyone ends up back on the same couch for the debrief. Pyjamas and coffee around the kitchen bench deliver the final reading: the cards were a little too right about more than one thing.
