Your Usual Catch-Up Could Never
The overnight bag is your first clue this is going to be good. Skincare gets packed with unreasonable optimism, three dinner outfits come along for one dinner and somebody brings a hair tool powerful enough to service the entire room. Girl's Glow Up Weekend takes the humble catch-up and gives it the full upgrade: luxe pampering, an overnight stay, dinner by the river and drinks to finish. You are not squeezing time with the girls into a few hours. You are moving in for the weekend.
First, the pampering. Settle into your own little corner of our beautiful beauty bar with a glass of bubbly in hand and nowhere else you need to be. Catch up while the experts take over and enjoy the luxury of having absolutely nothing else on the agenda. Nobody is checking the clock and the only decision required is whether another glass of bubbly is called for. It is, so wave down the bartender for another round...
Then it’s back to your girls trip accommodation, where the sleepover has had a very grown-up glow up of its own. Bags spill open, everyone claims a bed and the usual beauty cabinet swapping begins. Downstairs, the indoor heated pool, sauna and steam room are waiting if you fancy stretching the pampering out a little longer. Take a dip, stay in the robes, put the music on and enjoy having absolutely no reason to rush the getting-ready part.
Eventually, the dinner outfits get their moment. Head down to our waterfront bar, where your reserved table and glasses of bubbly are waiting with the Melbourne city lights around you. Pizzas and sharing plates start making their way across the table while the conversation does what it always does when the girls finally have enough time together: one story becomes three, someone remembers something she absolutely meant to tell everyone and nobody notices how long you've been sitting there.
And the night still has somewhere to go. Head to your reserved space for drinks, settle in and pop the bottle of sparkling waiting for the group. This is usually about the point where a good girls weekend develops a sequel. Somebody mentions another city, someone else opens the calendar and suddenly a trip that did not exist ten minutes ago has potential dates. Apparently being thoroughly spoiled together is very persuasive.
Later, head back knowing nobody has to organise a ride home in the opposite direction or be the first to call it a night. There are beds waiting, nowhere else anyone needs to be and the night gets to end when you actually want it to. Turns out adding an overnight stay to the humble catch-up was excellent decision making after all.
