Wet Hair, Loose Lips
Sydney Harbour has two personalities. There's the postcard version, all glittering water and beautiful views. And there's the version that sends a wall of spray across your jet boat just as you were trying to look composed. Ocean Spray and Overshare gives you both, with an exhilarating ride on the harbour followed by rooftop drinks, waterfront dining and an overnight stay with the people who saw absolutely everything.
First, pull on your poncho and climb aboard the jet boat. The first burst of speed is usually enough to end any attempts at looking elegant. There's wind, spray, laughter and that wonderful split second when you spot the next turn coming but can't do a thing about it. By the time you're back on shore, everyone has a different account of who screamed first. They're all very convincing.
Head to your chic Sydney city apartment to freshen up, change and let your hair recover. This is where the retelling starts. One friend claims she was completely calm. Another remembers gripping the seat rather firmly. The beauty of doing something ridiculous together is having witnesses who won't let you rewrite history.
Now for the other side of Sydney. Make your way to our rooftop garden, where reserved seating and a bottle of bubbly are waiting for your group. From up here, the harbour looks wonderfully peaceful. It's almost hard to believe you were hurtling across it earlier. Settle in, pour a glass and enjoy the view without a poncho in sight.
Later, head to our harbourside dining venue for bubbly on arrival and delicious share plates at your reserved table. The water is right there again, looking far too innocent. Pass the plates, order from the discounted cocktail menu if you fancy something extra, and let the conversation wander beyond the boat ride. Funny how one shared adventure can give everyone so much to say.
