New Season, Same Cast
Some weekends are about switching off. This one is about turning the volume up. There's a gorgeous rooftop, bubbly and tapas, a male revue with some rather impressive leading men and your own chic Brisbane city apartment to come home to. It's got everything a great reality show needs, minus the cameras and the dramatic elimination ceremonies. Welcome to Do It For The Plot, where the girls are the stars and the evening has a few surprises in store.
Every good show needs a home base, and yours is a beautiful Brisbane city apartment. It's the perfect place to get everyone together before the evening begins. Music on, drinks in the fridge and plenty of opinions flying around about what everyone should wear. There's also the small matter of discussing exactly what tonight's entertainment might involve. Predictions are made, expectations are high and someone is already declaring that she's going to behave herself. We'll see about that.
The opening act takes place on a fabulous Mediterranean-inspired rooftop bar, overlooking the Brisbane skyline. Think plush white lounges, swaying palms and a disco ball adding a little sparkle to the surroundings. Your table is reserved, there's a glass of bubbly for everyone and delicious chef-prepared tapas to share while you settle into the evening.
It's the perfect combination of gorgeous surroundings, good food and catching up with the girls. The rooftop views provide a fabulous backdrop for a few photos, the bubbly gets the conversations flowing and the atmosphere is just right for a night that's only getting started. Everyone's looking fabulous, the whole group is together and there's still a rather interesting development to come.
Now, we've been organising group experiences at My Ultimate since 2011, and we have a particular soft spot for a well-timed plot twist.
Enter the male revue.
Just a short stroll away, the evening takes a decidedly cheekier turn. Your seating is ready, keeping the girls together for a show that's all about big performances, plenty of personality and some very attractive entertainment.
And before the main event has even started, the supporting cast is already making an impression. Topless waiters move through the venue serving finger food, there's a round of bubbly to enjoy and more than a few opportunities to appreciate the scenery. It's a shared show, so there are plenty of other groups getting into the spirit of things too. The atmosphere is lively, the anticipation is building and suddenly everyone's paying very close attention.
Then the lights go down and the real entertainment begins.
The performers take to the stage with choreographed routines, cheeky strip performances and enough confidence to fill the entire room. There's music, plenty of cheering and some rather impressive moves to appreciate. It's the kind of show where your attention is firmly on what's happening in front of you, although the occasional glance at your friends' reactions is almost as entertaining.
And let's be real, watching a male revue is one thing. Watching it with your particular group of girls? That's an entirely different experience. Everyone has their favourites, everyone has opinions and there's a very good chance someone will be hearing about her reaction for quite some time.
Eventually the final performance wraps up, but luckily for this cast, the episode isn't quite over.
Back at your Brisbane apartment, it's time for the part of the evening that never makes it into the official programme: the debrief. Shoes come off, everyone gets comfortable and the night is immediately subjected to a very thorough review. Favourite performances are discussed, particularly memorable moments get re-enacted and there may be some disagreement over exactly who was cheering the loudest.
And the best part? Nobody has to say goodbye and head off in different directions. You've got your own space to keep the laughs going, enjoy being together and relive the evening for as long as everyone fancies.
By the time the weekend is over, there'll be plenty of new material for the group chat, a few excellent photos and probably some very different versions of who did what.
