Doing the Bare Minimum, Beautifully
Getting the whole group to agree on a weekend deserves some kind of award. Finding a date that works, getting everyone committed and finally turning all that group chat talk into actual plans? That's the hard part. And frankly, after pulling off that minor miracle, nobody should have to spend their weekend playing event organiser. Bare Minimum Weekend is our answer to doing less planning and a whole lot more enjoying yourselves.
It all starts at your chic Brisbane city apartment, your own little home base for the weekend. Bags are dropped, drinks go in the fridge and someone has already claimed the best spot on the couch. There's no rushing off to the next thing, no complicated schedule to follow and definitely no need to tidy up before the girls arrive. Everyone's finally in the same room, and that alone feels pretty good.
Then comes the grazing, delivered straight to your door. A delicious spread of savoury favourites and fresh fruit, ready for everyone to tuck into while the catching up gets properly underway. No supermarket runs, no chopping things into little pieces and no poor soul stuck preparing food while everyone else has fun. Just good food, your favourite people and an afternoon that's already looking rather fabulous.
And just when everyone's getting comfortable, the bare minimum takes on a whole new meaning. Your private My Ultimate topless waiter arrives to look after the drinks and provide a little eye candy for the afternoon. He's doing the bare minimum in the shirt department, but certainly making up for it elsewhere. A cheeky bit of entertainment, plenty of laughs and some rather excellent photo opportunities. Who said staying in couldn't be the highlight of the weekend?
Of course, there's one part of this weekend where doing the bare minimum simply won't do, and that's getting ready for a night out. The music gets louder, the makeup bags take over the bathroom and someone inevitably needs an opinion on the black dress or the other black dress. There's perfume being shared, a curling wand doing the rounds and at least one person declaring they're nearly ready when they absolutely aren't. It's all part of the fun, and having your own apartment means you can enjoy every minute of it together.
Once everyone's looking the part, it's time to head out into Brisbane for dinner. Your table is reserved at a vibrant restaurant bar where the atmosphere is just as good as the company. Kick things off with a glass of bubbly, or a spirit and mixer if that's more your style, before settling in for delicious chef-prepared share plates. There's a discounted cocktail menu if you fancy another round, and the whole evening is yours to enjoy. No debating where to eat, no last-minute restaurant searches and no one having to coordinate a thing.
And the beauty of having your own apartment? The night doesn't necessarily end when you leave the restaurant. Head home, kick off the heels, change into something comfortable and settle in for the sort of conversations that only happen when it's just the girls. Maybe someone brings up an old story that still makes everyone laugh, or perhaps the conversation turns to where you're all going next. Whatever the evening brings, there's something lovely about not having to say goodbye and head in six different directions.
