Take One Ocean View, Repeat as Needed
I need a holiday. Every one of you has said it this year, usually on a Tuesday, usually to each other and never once with a date attached. Vitamin Sea Therapy is that prescription finally filled: a long beachfront lunch with bottomless mimosas, your own chic Gold Coast apartment, a table by the water as evening comes in and a rooftop bottle of bubbly under the night sky to finish. Time with your girls isn't the reward you earn once everything else is done. It belongs with the essentials, right up there with sleep and sunshine.
Doctor's orders came from you this time, and the first dose comes with an ocean view. Our beachfront restaurant is all white and pale timber under rattan pendant lights, with arched banquettes and a terrace looking out over the treetops to the sea. Your table's reserved and a mimosa arrives for each of you as you sit down. Then the bottomless mimosas begin, topped up for two hours while the conversation wanders wherever it likes.
The share plates come out for the table, made for passing and gone well before anyone admits they're full. Somewhere around the fourth top up the laughing gets loud enough that the table next door starts smiling too, and somebody proposes a toast to the sea itself, which passes unanimously. Back at your own chic Gold Coast apartment, the afternoon goes horizontal for a while. The playlist goes on low and the couch fills up with all of you, feet tucked under, replaying the best lines from lunch. A little lie down isn't just allowed, it's practically on the prescription. When the energy comes back, getting ready turns into a group dose of its own: the playlist back up, every mirror in use, a hunt for the good bronzer and outfits paraded past the couch for a second opinion.
As evening settles, it's down to the water for the next dose. Our waterfront spot looks straight out over the water, which turns from blue to silver while you settle in. Your table's reserved and a round of bubbly starts the second chapter of the day, with the tapas style share plates coming down the table close behind. With lunch well behind you, the talk gets past the catch up and into the real stuff.
The night finishes up high. Our rooftop beach club glows after dark, the pool lit in neon and the music turned up. The group's got a reserved rooftop space, and the bottle of bubbly gets popped with a cheer and shared round for one final toast. With views like that under the night sky, the whole day looks like exactly what the doctor ordered.
The couch debrief runs late. The prescription's working: over the first coffee of the day, not one person has said 'I need a holiday' since lunch yesterday.
