The Club Is Back in Session
Some clubs have a constitution, a committee and a very serious set of rules. Yours has a group chat, a questionable collection of photos and an impressive ability to turn one quick catch-up into three hours of conversation. The only problem? Lately, most of your meetings have been conducted entirely through your phones, and the minutes are mostly memes.
Well, Creative Club Catch Up is officially bringing everyone back into the same room. There's a private paint-and-sip workshop, a gorgeous Brisbane city apartment, grazing delivered to your door and a fabulous dinner out with the girls. And because My Ultimate has been organising group experiences since 2011, we're more than happy to take on the secretary duties. The planning is our department. Yours is simply to turn up and enjoy yourselves.
First on the agenda is your very own private paint-and-sip studio, right in the heart of Brisbane. No strangers, no sharing the space with another group, just the girls and a little artistic ambition. Your personal artist host will guide everyone through the chosen artwork step by step, so absolutely no experience is necessary. Whether you can paint a masterpiece or struggle with a stick figure, you're in good hands. The studio is BYO friendly too, so bring along your favourite drinks and make yourselves at home. You can even decorate the studio to give your creative catch-up a little extra personality.
Now, here's where things get interesting. Everyone starts with the same picture, the same instructions and roughly the same level of confidence. But somewhere along the way, the artistic interpretations start heading in very different directions. Someone's taking their time over every little detail, someone else has discovered a previously unknown talent and there's almost certainly a masterpiece in progress that nobody quite knows how to describe.
And that's half the fun. There's something wonderfully entertaining about trying something creative together, especially when the results are as individual as the girls themselves. By the end, everyone has their own finished canvas to take home, and possibly a newfound appreciation for just how difficult painting actually is.
With the creative session complete, it's time to adjourn to your chic Brisbane city apartment. The paintings find somewhere safe to rest, the shoes come off and everyone settles in for the next important item of business: grazing. A delicious platter is delivered straight to your door, filled with savoury favourites and fresh fruit for everyone to share. No shopping, no preparing food and no one missing out on the conversation because they're stuck in the kitchen.
Then comes another essential club activity: getting ready together. The music goes up, the makeup bags come out and the apartment becomes a hive of activity. Outfits are tabled for approval, opinions are offered freely and there's bound to be at least one emergency request to borrow somebody's eyeliner. The club may not have an official dress code, but that won't stop everyone from having a say.
Once everyone's ready, it's time to take the meeting somewhere a little more glamorous. Your evening destination is a vibrant restaurant bar in the heart of Brisbane's nightlife, complete with bold decor, red lighting and a sparkling chandelier overhead. It's a fabulous setting for a girls dinner, and your table is already reserved.
A round of bubbly, or a spirit and mixer if that's more your style, gets the evening underway before the chef's delicious share plates arrive. There's plenty to go around, a discounted cocktail menu if anyone fancies another drink, and all the time in the world to catch up properly. The paintings might get another mention, but let's face it, there's probably quite a lot of other business the club needs to discuss.
When the evening winds down, your apartment is waiting. Back to comfy clothes, one last catch-up on the couch and perhaps another look at the afternoon's artistic achievements. Someone might even suggest that the paintings deserve a permanent place in the group chat.
And before everyone heads home, there's just one final item on the agenda.
