Pencils Out, Behaviour Questionable
The plans for this weekend have been sketchy for a while. A few dates floated in the group chat, calendars compared and absolutely nothing locked in. Then somebody typed the words nude life drawing and suddenly everybody had the same weekend free. Funny that. Sketchy Behaviour makes it official with your own chic Melbourne city apartment, a private life drawing session that comes to you, cocktails and dinner in the heart of the city, then a VIP booth at our glam laneway cocktail lounge. Turns out all this group needed was the right incentive.
Your own chic Melbourne city apartment is home base, and there's a very particular energy in the room as everyone settles in. Drinks go in the fridge, the playlist goes on and nobody is being remotely casual about the fact that a nude model is about to knock on the door. You've talked about doing something like this for long enough. Now he's actually on his way.
Then comes the knock. Your model arrives and starts by taking over drink duty for the group before it's time to get the sketchpads out and see what everyone's working with. He'll take you through a series of poses while you draw, with some of the group taking their artistic responsibilities extremely seriously and others losing concentration for entirely understandable reasons. Compare masterpieces, defend your creative decisions and make sure you get the group photo at the end. You're going to want evidence this happened.
Once the sketchpads are packed away, get ready together before heading into the city for cocktails and dinner. Your reserved seating is waiting at our vibrant cocktail bar, along with a cocktail each and share plates from the chef for the table. Naturally, another full critique of the artwork is made as you're passing plates and some of the reviews are savage. The artists stand by their work.
Then it's down a Melbourne laneway to our glam cocktail lounge, where your group skips the cover charge and your VIP booth is waiting with a bottle of bubbly on ice. Pop the bottle, settle in and toast to the scheduling miracle that finally got everyone here. The booth is home base between trips to the dancefloor, and the night is yours from there.
Later, back at the apartment, the sketches inevitably come out one more time. Viewed under different lighting and several cocktails later, some have improved considerably. Others raise questions. By morning, the group's deciding which ones make it into the group chat and which are being taken to the grave.
We’ve been doing this long enough to know it’s usually the little details that turn a good girls weekend into one everyone keeps talking about. The anticipation before the knock, the pose that breaks everyone’s concentration, comparing masterpieces over dinner and the bottle popped in your VIP booth. It starts with a sketchy plan and ends with a collection of artwork nobody is ever throwing away.
